Almost of 700 million people in developing countries are blind or have bad vision. Many of them can't afford an optometrist. For many years, Kovin Naidoo has been trying to help them.
Naidoo is the head of the International Centers of Eye Care Education (ICEE), and the Schwab Foundation has named him its Social Entrepreneur in Africa of 2010. ICEE carries out tests in school to diagnose and treat vision problems in their early stages. We went along to a training session in which eye experts and teachers were shown how to examine people in remote areas.
